Panic attack

Have posted before about my husband's drinking. This morning I found he had been drinking liqueur, he had opened wine to go into a casserole, and said don't worry I won't drink the rest. It has all disappeared. He is asleep now. I had my first panic attack. His response - what's the matter with you, I'll stop drinking if you want. Classic buck passing. We are 62, married 30 years, 2 kids 21 and 23. I am going to join al anon. Has anyone in a similar situation discussed their partner's drinking with mutual friends? Is that betrayal? They must know how much he drinks, but not the morning drinking. Should I tell the kids about al anon? They are aware he drinks a lot. Any response or advice welcome. Thankyou
