Sober Spring, anyone?

I'm going to give Sober Spring a go. I've signed up on the dry January app & am hoping I can stick to it! I need a break from drinking & the poor decisions/poor food choices that go alongside it! I know I'll struggle as the evenings get warmer and lighter but I've got to give it a try! I'm going to try & exercise & get out with the dog a bit more in the hope that helps!

If anyone fancies joining me, that would be amazing Smile

@LetsGoDoDoDo we've all done it. I always cave, do it in spectacular fashion & if never goes unnoticed! Just keep trying! I'm so cross with myself but am telling myself I'll do 2 weeks then reevaluate (seems easier than saying a month or more & I'm hoping once I get to two weeks, I'll be making a habit of it!)

I drank wine last night too,I had a bad night's sleep on Friday so yesterday was feeling tired and also stressed for various reasons and gave myself the green light to have wine - still feeling tired this morning. I will be back to sober tonight.

I‘ll join too. I‘m already 20 days in mainly as i’ve just been working and not had time to socialise much. I‘d love to keep it up. I sleep so much better, up early for runs and walks with the dog. No longer wasting half a day feeling like a zombie hunting for headache tablets and craving salty food. I don‘t miss it at all. And saved some pennies. All that being said though we‘ve got an easter family get together next weekend and my mum‘s always so quick to break out the prosecco so will be a true test of my willpower 💪🏻 I gave up chocolate for the past 3 weeks so i‘m hoping indulging in chocolate will mean i‘m not tempted by the alcohol! Such good timing for this thread for me! 😌🤩

Good thinking re the chocolate next weekend. I usually avoid chocolate due to the calories - ha! Never worried about the calories in wine though. I think this is the year for a giant lindor easter egg - if I can remain AF until and over Easter. I can I can I can. Happy Sober Sunday folks!

Day 3 here. Feeling good - how is everyone else doing?

I'm good too. Struggling with thoughts about this weekend as we're away. I have to say being out Friday night and not drinking felt a bit flat and boring. So I don't know whether to not drink this weekend and feel the same, just try and drink Sat night (or whether that will press the F it button and I drink all 3 nights we're away which I don't want to.).

I’m on day 457 alc free (using the same app as you) so in my second ‘sober spring.’ I meant to do a year but enjoyed it so carried on. I was a very big drinker but it was time to call a halt, and I’m ‘all or nothing’ so couldn’t make the odd exception. I’m finding now that I don’t think about alcohol much and automatically look for the ‘soft’ options or don’t have a drink at all. Alc free beers have been a godsend, but I don’t need them as much as I did either. It’s all been very positive. Best of luck!

Can I join? I did dry January then had a very wet February and March! My cravings have been nuts over the Easter holidays mostly solo parenting with my boys (aged nearly 6 and 2.5YO). Today has been next level and I keep dreaming about a very very large glass of wine! HELP!

How is everyone getting on?
