Yes I've been here before, but something has just clicked this morning.. I've had too many nights of blackouts - not knowing what's been said, waking up at 3am feeling absolutely awful. I'm a bit scared if I'm totally honest! But today is a new day and day one of my alcohol free journey. Time to find my people and focus on the new improved version of me. Much love to you all.

Good luck, keep posting, we can do this!

Managed to get through day one.. my hard stop is 8pm after that all thoughts of drinking wine vanish as it's too late to start in my head. I had a fe wobble moments telling myself I deserved a reward for this and that but I didn't cave in and that's what matters. Here's to day two, welcome @Stupidlydupidly stay strong!

Hey there op. This was me 7 months ago, it was tough, but, I cannot tell you how amazing I feel now. Reading your post, I vividly remember those 3am wakes, with anxiety and dread. I do not miss that at all.

I had so many day ones and then like you, it just clicked. You can do this.

I had loads of treats in the early days, something nice to look forward to every evening. It really helps. Good luck.

Have you tried alcohol free beer / wine? It's really nice!

Got through another evening AF 🙌 kept busy cleaning and doing the washing which helped get me past my 8pm hard stop.! Today I'm going to search for an alcohol free wine or g&t as we have a beach hut afternoon which would normally end with a BBQ and a glass of wine.. so I'm going prepared 😉 I recall having some lovely Alcohol free Gin and Tonic from M&S that could be a refreshing tipple. Never tried AF wine - recommendations welcome.

Hi op I didn't really find a great wine although, some of the af fizzy wines are ok. I prefer the af ciders (kopperberg/smashed). They really helped in the early days.
