Apologies if there is already an on-going thread on this?

I would love to hear everyone's.

For me: I am 35 weeks pregnant currently and not missing it, determined to not go back.

I have a father with strong alcoholic dependency that has never tried to seek help and I would never want to get to that point or put my own kids through that.

A year and a half ago I drive back from a friend's (an hour and a half) middle of the night over tipsy and head spinning and still got behind a while. The friend let me drive (I don't speak to them anymore) Careered my car off a county road, enough to put me off.

@Ohthatsexciting so what is your story? I thought this was an alcohol support threat rather than be attacked?

It was a sequence of moments for me rather than one single one. The first was my birthday in summer 2020 when my gifts included 4 or 5 bottles of gin. It made me feel a bit sick to look at it all and I didn't want to be someone that you could automatically just buy gin for. The second was when after yet another weekend hangover I looked at a graph on breast cancer risks with hrt and saw how the risk increased with higher levels of drinking. The third and pivotal moment was November 2020 when Trump lost the election and I realised that one of my most common reasons excuses for pouring a drink was gone. I started off by stopping until the end of the year, extended it to 100 days and then decided not to start again.

All the best with the last few weeks of your pregnancy!

Correction: it was a chart of risk factors not an alcohol specific graph.
