Just that really .
I wondered just how bad this blood picture looks .
My ALT is normal
Gamma GT is raised at 70 and my Ferratin 370.

I think I am a high functioning ?alcoholic . Drink half a bottle of wine most nights after work more at the weekends.
I will address this but dont really understand how bad these results are .
I asked for some blood tests as so tired all the time and achy .
Doctor wants to repeat in a few weeks .
Im quite scared that I have liver failure .

Assuming you are female and over 18, the lab reference range for this local lab suggests it should be less than 36 to be ‘normal’ level. Your local lab may have a slightly different reference range, they aren’t all the same because of the differences in equipment.

The liver can regenerate itself though with changes to lifestyle, I’m assuming the dr wants to retest in a few weeks to see if levels have improved. I think if they were very concerned about liver failure they would have referred you urgently for a liver scan as an alcoholic family member of mine was. Ferritin can reduce quickly if you abstain from alcohol, I hope your GP is supporting you in this. Flowers

Out of those the only concern is the Gamma GT, but on its own and only a one off test it's hard to get a picture.

As the previous poster said if they had any concerns you were in liver failure you would be rushed for a scan Flowers

I have got significant fibrosis but was drinking for a long long time and more than you.

Last year my Gamma GT was 330, and my ALT was 104.

From what I have read a one off raised Gamma GT can be a blip, a reaction of to much alcohol the night before, or inflammation etc. I wouldn't be to worried yet, and hang on until your next bloods.

Meanwhile if you want to try and go Alcohol Free there are quite a few threads on here which have been a massive help to me to read, and the book Alcohol Explained there is a thread for has also helped me.

Good luck.

How old are you? Your GT should come back down quickly enough.

I don't want to say that isn't high in case you think you don't need to address the issue. But mind was a lot higher and did right itself, in a reasonably short amount of time by stopping completely
