Looking for an AA group

I have given up alcohol since Jan 1st (cliche I know). I’m looking to join an on line group and too ashamed to go somewhere in person in my area. Can you join an on line group out of area?

@fluffy71 yes there are lots of online groups now. You can look them up I'm sure or call AA helpline to ask.

A lot are back in person. Many are on zoom. A lot of the groups are closed on Facebook but

Check out AA online and you should find what you need or some guidance.

Every single member was in exactly the same situation at one time.

Meanwhile join us on the Dry January threads - we're not trained but we're a friendly, supportive bunch!

You can join meetings anywhere in the world (I know someone who regularly hangs out in online AA meetings in the USA, Australia and so on). But there is no need to be embarrassed about going to a local meeting - everyone is there for the same reason and will be welcoming, friendly and non-judgmental.
