Has anyone read this book?

Do you need to have read The Naked Mind? Or is this a standalone?

Interested as I have both. Wondering if they are similar or consecutive? Is one better than the other?

Also any other books recommendations (non audible preferred)

I'm reading this and it's brilliant. A lot of what she says resonates with me and how I felt when I was drinking (day 5 of sobriety here). I'm not sure if I'll give up totally or moderate, but this book is making me here towards total abstinence.

I am currently on day 5 of the free version of the AE and listening to the audiobook - which I also got free by doing the free trial
on Audible app. Also on the Facebook support group. Finding all of these helpful - some of it is a bit “meh” but I’ve now got a routine which provides structure to my evenings and stops me being bored. I find the neuroscience stuff most helpful as it really helps me understand cravings and why destructive behaviours are repeated. I’m day 10 AF today with zero desire to drink.

Agree with Sober Diaries
Also
Unexpected joy of being sober
Blackout
Bryony Gordon book ( can't remember the title but it's green and black)

I'm currently reading The Naked Mind and I'm definitely finding it easier to go without alcohol. But interested in some of the other recommendations and going to add to my reading list.

Thanks, I have actually read the Unexpected Joys and as a result I subscribed to a website "sick and tired of thinking about drinking" You receive daily emails (there are also recordings and podcasts etc)

I have kept all the emails in a folder to revisit when I do eventually stop bloody drinking - which is actually now!

Day 3 alcohol free and craving a glass of wine while I negotiate tea time for kids while also trying to write a presentation for work. I have loads of quit lit, especially love the Sober Diaries. But what works best in this crazy moment of craving??

I wrote Everything You Ever Taught Me: About trying to stay sober when living in the wilderness. Grin
