Alcohol support
Need support. Quit alcohol and gaining weight!!!

Just wondered if this happened to anyone else and it eventually reversed and you lost tons of weight??!! So I drink way too much. Quit two weeks ago but keep piling on the pounds. The kicker is…I am not changing my diet.
Tell me the other benefits are worth it and the weight will come off eventually?

Congratulations!
A lot of people, including me, who quit alcohol find themselves craving sweet things, are there no changes at all in what you are eating? Extra sugar in your tea & a couple of extra mugs a day? More carbs in general so larger portion of potatoes/pasta/bread?
Well done on quitting! I’m 67 weeks AF & it’s the best feeling in the world.

@Oldhabitsarehardtobreak thanks for the support! I really need it. It’s strange I am not adding extra sugar to things but maybe I am eating more carbs? I will need to monitor more closely.
Thanks!

I quit a year ago and have only just lost weight through a real concerted effort. All the other benefits are so worth it, stick with it.

@JustWorriedSick thanks. I think I just bought into the hype of… quit booze and the pounds will melt off!

I’m the same, I always take away from it that I obviously wasn’t drinking quite as much as I thought! I try to focus on the extra energy to exercise and meal plan that I have the next day.
