Name changed so not linked bla bla.

So I sat up Monday night reading through posts on this board and it inspired me.

After drinking too much for too long I am currently on day 4.

I got all the vitamins recommended and I am feeling better already. This is the first Friday night in years I have had no alcohol (so far, I know it's still early)

I don't know what to expect from this, but even if no one replies I will keep up best I can for myself.

Amazing! So glad you're feeling better already, I (unfortunately) haven't drank in around 21 months.. so it's definitely possible! Good luck and always here if you need support!

Unfortunately? That's bloody amazing (if you were trying to give up?)

All I see on here tonight is people drinking, or is it just me?

Thank you for your offer of support.

Day 6 here. Stopped and started a few times but always lurk on the boards and pop back! Good luck to you. Think that the stop drinking threads have quit lit suggestions etc which can be helpful.

I've also stopped and started a few times. Always start on a Monday and by Friday think "oh sod it, it's the weekend".

BUT I made it through Friday! And I didn't even want a drink.

I've seen all the lit, but truthfully I think reading through others posts has done it for me, it made me realise a lot.

Well done on your six days.

I used to drink quite a lot but ended up stopping as I had 2 babies in the space of a year.. so it was good! But I haven't had a drink since - I feel like I'd want to start again if I did!

Just think of it this way, I know it is hard and not quite so simple, but you have gone this long.

Also I really would not want a hangover with two children so young and close in age.

@TickTockBitches exactly! It would be hell!Confused

Day 5 and my second weekend night in a row.

OP posts:

You can do it! Honestly after tonight and once the weekends over that's such a massive step!

TickTockBitches · 11/04/2021 11:15

@outtill10pm I did it!

So how old are your babies? I'm guessing very little as you got pregnant first 21 months ago? 13 and 2 months?

One thing I'm already noticing is my days are not going as quick (I mean that as a good thing).

I don't feel like I'm wasting the day and I'm getting stuff done.

Hello! May I join? It is my Day 1 today and I am doing a personal 100 day challenge (hopefully longer, but 100 days will be a good start).

I'd love some company.

TickTockBitches · 12/04/2021 09:44

Hi of course you can join. The more the merrier.

I'm pretty pleased I went the whole weekend without alcohol. I'm nearly 1 week down now.

Good on you TickTockBitches. That is great!

I am not working today so am giving the house a amssive clean then will take the Dcs out for one of those infernal, never ending walks. I need to plan for my trigger times (about 4 pm when I am not working). Maybe some weeding...... or making an elaborate 3 course dinner.... (or something!)

BlueLobelia · 12/04/2021 10:19

what vitamins are you taking? I have a multi (and never remember to take it) and I am drinking water with turmeric which I believe helps with inflammation and supports liver function. I like the drink - I have a pint of fizzy water, add half a teaspoon of tumeric and juice of half a lemon.

I am feeling very positive!

TickTockBitches · 12/04/2021 10:47

I think that is the main thing, keeping as busy as you can, I am getting back into reading. I was always a big reader but stopped for years.

I took a screenshot from another thread about the vitamins, so have attached that. Milk thistle is also another vitamin that is good. Also eating beetroot/beetroot juice. All good for the liver.

How is it going?

I'm surprised, I'm already felling happier, sleeping better, eating better etc.

Wow a week ago today, I was drinking wine while reading others posts on here.

It was them posts that inspired me. This is the longest time I have gone without alcohol in years.

Gosh it must be more than 21 months! I have a 22 month old, and a 9 month old... so it's actually been 30months since I had a drink!ShockI guess that's how much I'm kind of 'over it' by now! I think in some ways lock down has helped as I would usually drink with friends/going out

outtill10pm · 15/04/2021 11:17

Congrats on making it through the weekend and it's nice you're getting your days back! How you feeling now?

TickTockBitches · 15/04/2021 17:17

I think lockdown was worse for me. A lot of zooms that involved having a drink, and at home it's completely different with you doing your own drinks.

I was actually about to give up alcohol completely ( I had a scan that showed that I had a slight fatty liver), when all this started but then it all just went tits up.

Today is day 10! I've had days where I'll admit I would like a drink but I've managed to stay away.
