Cutting down alcohol, poor sleep

I really thought I would sleep better if I cut down the alcohol, but had a very poor night last night. Has anyone found this improves with time?

It can be awful if you cut back for the first few nights. Power through and it will get much better.

It definitely improves with time. I did dry January and by the end I was sleeping very well. I had a few drinks in early February and went back to sleeping badly again. I have now stopped for another while as I feel so much better when getting a good nights sleep.

I stopped and it took about 6 weeks to establish a decent sleep pattern. It's not always about the length of sleep but the quality of it..... persevere and well done x

Thank you, I don't plan to stop altogether, just reducing as I have been drinking way too much recently.

It takes time for sleep to settle and you become normal which means you don't necessarily sleep well every night! I definitely feel better though (6 weeks in) and I have never regretted not having a hangover!
