Hello all, I am new here, don't really know what to expect. I am 53, married and have two teenage daughters. I have struggled with alcohol for a decade now. On and off. A few months or a few weeks sober at a time, then something triggers me and I drink again. I managed not to drink at all during the first quarantine! This time I was three weeks sober (after we agreed with husband not to go out alone, not to use credit cards), then mid week went shopping with cards, got a bottle of wine. Continued drinking for 2 days (a bottle of wine each day). Day 1 again then. I cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Any thoughts more than welcome.

Hi Mumwithissue, I am also a mum of two teenagers, working full time and not much opportunities to work from home.

It looks like we re o the same boat, I didn't drink for to weeks in October and since then its been on and off for single days.

I use the wine to get through the house work/chores, especially cooking, cleaning and overall the feeling that this never ends and whatever I do it is housework, that doesn't get recognised at all. Started making baby steps lately - got myself a cleaner, but I think she is abusing my generosity and spends more time in the house then it actually requires.

Just finished Alan Cars audio book about women and alcohol and hopeful that I will stop. I can argue with a lot of statements in the book.

The thing is, I love the taste of wine, wine tasting etc. I do not drink any other alcohol. A glass of wine makes a meal perfect.

I also lost interest to everything I am doing, regardless how positive I am aiming to be, I am failing.

Started exercising as well to keep myself entertained.
