Hi, sober for 250 days but not losing any weight at all! Was a very heavy drinker so would have expected to have lost a little! Thx

Congratulations on the 250 days. That’s amazing!
Try logging everything you eat on My Fitness Pal or similar to see if there are any issues.
I’m 137 days AF and I found myself craving more sweet stuff than I would ever normally have eaten, to replace the sugar I was missing from wine. I’ve managed to keep my weight on track by logging everything and keeping to my daily calorie targets that I worked out here and then reducing the maintenance total by 20%

Ahh Lotty how fabulous to see you go from strength to strength, 250 days is an amazing achievement 😊 I also gained quite a bit of weight on sertraline despite not drinking and had to rein it in a bit by doing 16:8 fast ie only eating in an 8hr window, for me 11-19h. Might not be for everyone. I'm now switched to citalopram for an unrelated reason (less interaction with tamoxifen) and this AD doesn't have as much weight gain associated with it, so could also be worth keeping in mind. Huge congrats again xxxx

Thx V how very kind.
I'm going to give it to March which will be 1 year sober and then may give it up - not sure if alcohol causes the depression or vice versa!

Congratulations on 250 days, that's brilliant!
I'm on day 79 and have been so frustrated re lack of weight loss. I'm much more active now I'm not perpetually hungover and I must be saving literally thousands of calories a week from giving up booze (was also a pretty heavy drinker - very heavy during lockdown) I hadn't made the connection with sertraline. I've weaned to half my dose since stopping drinking but think I'm stopping here for a while as was having very low days when I tried to wean further. I'm trying to do a 14 hour fast, may try to up it, eat more mindfully and exercise more. It's so hard though isn't it.

Yup my downfall is chocolate - slightly worried swapping booze for chocolate! Even so, should be losing weight - slightly mystified - but better a fat frog than a drunk pig (in my mind!)
