AA anyone following 12 steps

Hi, just that really, has anyone stopped drinking alcohol following the 12 steps of AA?

Yes, I have . I chose A.A. as it’s free, readily available - I got sober 2 years ago and there are meetings within 10 minutes of my house every day, although now I prefer zoom meetings.

A big attraction for me is that it is anonymous as I was very ashamed about my drinking and I wasn’t in a position to go into a rehab as a lone parent I had neither child care available or could take time off work. It helped me

I'm doing as many zoom meetings as I possibly can, I'd actually struggle to get to meetings atm, so they are just the thing I need

How did you find working the steps, how do you get a sponsor, do you wait to be approached or do you have to ask?

You have to ask to find a sponsor, put it out there that you are looking in your shares at meetings
