Sorry, this really isn't meant to be a boasting post at all but I just wanted to share that I haven't had a drink of alcohol for 6 weeks and I am slowly seeing the benefits.

As someone who has been a heavy drinker since my teen years (mostly an everyday drinker) I truly never thought that this would be possible. Feeling so much much happier and healthier.

That's fantastic. I am on Day 18 today - from also drinking nearly every day. I am looking forward to reaching the six week mark and seeing some benefits. Well done.

Well done OP. I'm on another thread and today was day 3 for me! Could you go into more detail about the benefits you have experienced? I love reading peoples positive experiences it is inspiring!

Well done that's fantastic. Glad you are seeing the benefits, can I ask what they are, it's always good for motivation. I am day 4 of my umpteenth attempt.

rupert when I give up alcohol for a bit my benefits are -
Better sleep - from day (night one).
Positive feeling - day two onwards.
Connected habits die away - fewer random trips to shop / able to drive without thinking of have had a drink that night / less snacking etc - about a week in i notice these
Face slimmer and look more rested - a couple of weeeks
In
Lose weight - after about 3 or 4 weeks
Plus saving money throughout.
Best for me is just knowing you’ve broken a habit for a bit - that’s empowering.

Everyone is different and does it for differing reasons.

Good luck everyone.
