Drink drive issue

My partner has a drink problem, he frequently drinks away from the home in his vehicle and drives home. This happens several times a week but I don’t always know when he’s going to do it. I’ve on three occasions reported him anonymously through crime stoppers. I’ve given all the details including his registration number. He has never been stopped.
Tonight I think he’s doing it again, I can’t be 100% sure though. I’m terrified of calling the police directly because I may be wrong and I don’t know his location or the route he will be driving. And I scared he’ll find out it’s me who reported him.
I don’t know what to do, it will affect me too If he does get caught but he needs to be stopped.
I feel sick just writing this.

@cartrons, I'm so sorry, this is horrible for you. I've been where you are many times and its really tough. My exH used to do this and I reported him through Crimestoppers, with no effect. You are doing all the right things and, for what it's worth, I think you have to phone the police.

Try not to worry about the longer term effects. You never know, this might be the jolt he needs to do something about his drinking (or maybe not). As for not knowing whether he has definitely been drinking, trust your gut. It actually doesn't matter. Just getting stopped may make him think twice next time.

I really do feel for you. In the end, I decided the only thing for me and my children was to leave the marriage. Hope this goes well for you.
