So... I've made the decision to (attempt to) quit for good!!

I'm just getting fed up of people saying 'oh by the summer you can drink' or 'what about so and so's birthday' or 'seriously, forever'

I have told these friends that alcohol has affected my mental health, that I really want to quit etc etc snd this is what I get!

I feel like shaking them! They wouldn't say it if it was cigarettes!

Urgh! Rant over!

I totally get you. I think on this occasion the best thing is to not listen to your friends! If you feel you are healthier and happier without drink, keep it that way. Only you know how it really effects you and makes you feel. I don’t get drunk or drink more than my friends when out. But what they don’t know is that they can go weeks between nights out not drinking. My problem is if I have 2-3 drinks on Saturday I will have the same in Sunday, then Monday without it seems unbearable and so it goes on until I’m drinking all week long. Good luck with it. You sound determined so you can do this!
