So I decided to have a break from alcohol while completing my degree. Two weeks in and I'm experiencing headaches and craving Sugar. Has anybody else experienced this a couple of weeks into quitting?

I get the craving sugar bit. Every time I’m trying to be good and replace it with a healthy snack and trying to avoid too much sugar and hoping it’s getting slightly better.

My friend is a dietitian and says xylitol is good as tastes very similar to sugar but doesn’t cause the problems to blood sugar and teeth (careful as it’s dangerous to dogs though). It’s much more natural than it sounds as made from vegetables or something!

The headaches is odd- have you tried drinking more water incase helps?

Thnak you so much! I will try this. Headaches seem to have passed and I think it was definitely dehydration. How long have you stopped drinking for?

Yes I really do notice a difference, do you? I get less snappy in the evenings as struggle with tiredness.
Do you plan to stop altogether? I rather hope not to but going to see how it goes once I’ve had at least 3 months of no alcohol!

Yes I feel so much better for the majority of the time. A lot calmer, fresher in the mornings, less groggy. I don't think I'm ready to commit to forever, but definitely need t I do at least three months to see how I feel I think! Have you lost weight?
