Stopping drinking altogether

Drank last night. First time since Xmas day. I do it to be sociable but I just can’t get past the fact of how shitty I feel the next day. So today I have a fuzzy head but I also feel quite excited that I’ve chose to live tee total as of today. It feels quite liberating to be a non drinker. I’ve always drank (more binge drinking) but today I am deciding to not Smile.
Don’t need anyone to reply to this. Just wanted to mark this day for me.

Well done! I am hoping to be the same as you shortly! Just not strong enough yet Grin

Well done. Best thing I ever did.

Thank you.
I’m looking forward to not waking up with memory loss too. This happens after a small amount of alcohol too. It also does nothing to help my mental health. I feel bad though too for my friends as they now have a non-drinker in the group which feels like I’m lumbering them with a less fun version of myself. Does that make sense to others?

I have cut down rather than quit - I explained to my friends that I'd be drinking less and their biggest concern was that I would become I reformed drinker (we'll all heard about reformed smokers and how bloody dull they are) - preaching and judging - that's when you become a less fun version of yourself - stay away from the preaching and the judging is your best way to hang onto your friends. Good luck with your plans.

No preaching or judging I promise 👍🏼

Well done, try and find a nice non alcoholic pub drink. Lots of pubs now do non alcoholic cocktails.
Don't end up as the default designated driver all the time, I found that I was being invited out just so I'd drive.

How has the non drinking gone @OneToThree? How did u manage to do it?

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/03/2019 07:28

Awesome! Well done!

Yes still not drinking. Drank a fizzy J2O the other day when out. Quite nice taste. Out Saturday night in a couple of weeks. That will be an odd one as pub in walking distance. Having a meal so hoping I don’t give in and just have a couple of wines. I’ll let you know how I go.
I don’t go out that often and have never really drank in the house so that helps.
Going to see a band in May. I’d never normally do that and drive so that’s a biggie for me.
