11 months and still sober......

I stopped drinking on 19th Feb 2018. Before that I could happily down 2/3 bottles of wine (yes bottles) a couple of times a week. I had been doing this for a number of years.
Some things that helped were...
A bowl of sucky sweets on the coffee table, so when I was slobbing on the sofa instead of reaching for my glass of Sav Blanc I’d have a sherbet lemon.
I stopped going to the supermarket (and browsing the wine aisle for their 3 for £12 offers). I did all shopping on line and simply did not order wine.
I joined AA, don’t go anymore as realised it was not my ‘thing’, but it really helped in the very early days with the encouragement they gave and I’d use the weekly meeting as a goal to get through the week.
I know I can’t drink again, it’s still hard (at times) and I do still miss it sometimes.

Well done! Thats almost a year. 21 days into my own dry January / February challenge. I am hoping I will be able to moderate by not drinking Monday-Friday but we shall see. Enjoying being brighter in the mornings.
