Has anyone tried naltrexone?

If you have a local alcohol advisory service, particularly one with an onsite nurse, they may be able to prescribe or at least point you in the right direction. Some GPs won't prescribe it.
They will most likely only prescribe naltrexone in conjunction with engaging in the Sinclair Method, which is the accompanying recovery programme.
It's a wise idea to have liver function tests before starting on naltrexone, as it's hard on the liver. People with liver problems are usually prescribed nalmefene instead.
Good luck!
