Intervention?

Has anyone ever staged an intervention? Did it work or do you have any advice?

So worried about DH, I'm not sure that he would hugely value my opinion but I have niece (adult) who lives with us and he may listen to her.

I'm worried about his health and quality of life (he is functioning in high level stressful job) but most importantly children are getting to an age where they notice/may impact them. He's been through some bereavement (lots, one after the other) and this became a coping mechanism as well as nearly all his relatives having addictions.

I don't think he will agree to AA. Will an intervention just put a further gap between us?

An Intervention planned with professional support may help however unfortunately an alcoholic needs to seek help themselves have you tried Alanon for friends and families of alcoholics
