I locked out my alcoholic husband

Hi All, I'm looking for some advice please. Have had a difficult 10 years with my alcoholic husband. My daughter spent 3 years at CAMHS as a result. After many attempts to get him to stop drinking or to leave, 1 year ago I got my husband to a private rehab. After a spell in ITU and a few weeks in rehab he started to become verbally aggressive over the phone. I changed the lock (I know this is illegal but desperate measures were called for) and said that he could come back if he could prove that he could stop drinking and stop being aggressive. I arranged accommodation at his dad's and a month later he came out of rehab and stayed there. He has relapsed many times and remains verbally aggressive. He has been back in hospital (5 weeks) in ITU, 3 on a ward. He is demanding to come back, his father is refusing to have him and he says I should sell the house and give him half. I paid a large deposit for the house (1/3 of the value) and he has contributed nothing to the house or children except his half of the mortgage which he continues to pay. If anyone has advice or similar experience, I would be so grateful. Thanks in advance.

Didn't want to read and run but I would say you need to go to see a solicitor asap.

Thank you luckyme2, I have seen 2 solicitors. Both have advised to leave it as long as possible. Legally he is entitled to half the house, half my wage and half my pension - scary :-(

FilledSoda because if he drinks himself to death before divorce then that will be a whole lot easier. That’s what I’m doing. Go ahead and flame!! It’s all about survival.
