I usually drink between 1 or 2 large glasses of wine a night(after 7pm) but could easily have more! I have recently made a massive effort to cut back and build in alcohol free days. I have found the following v helpful:
- Empty glass recycling each week. Monitor the box. If there are two empty bottles of wine in there, i do not buy or consume any more(unless we go out which is v rare).
- Have a cup of tea instead-sounds boring but it works for me.
- Wait until Ive finished eating before pouring a glass, I sometimes find that my craving goes if I eat and then I don't end up having a drink.
- Having a bath after dinner and then lying on my bed catching up with news on phone.
I often feel an urge to drink in the evenings. I have a pressure feeling just above my stomach and feel on edge or anxious if I don't drink. I wish I wasn't like this.
My oh doesn't think I drink too much (2-3 bottles a week). He hardly drinks but I feel I drink too much and use it to help me unwind/relax. I never drink in the daytime. Only ever after 7pm.
