Adoption present for friends?

Hi I'm hoping some of you will be able to help me. Just found out that my friends were approved as a match for a pair of siblings (2yo and 1yo I believe) and start introductions on Tuesday. I am over the moon for them as they are both great friends whom I knew individually before they met each other and they will just be fab parents, very patient, accepting and laid-back. I want to get them something special and they aren't quite sure what they need yet. Any suggestions? I haven't got loads of money unfortunately, though I've told them they're welcome to any stuff I have in my loft (I have 2yo and almost 4 yo boys)!

What would be a good present for them/ something really helpful to do for them? Am beaming from ear to ear at their news as I type!!!

The present that I liked the most when we got DS was wooden letters that spelled his name. We put them up on his door with blue tack.

What about a couple of casserole/one pot type meals for the days they will have been with the children all day.

We've done quite a lot of introductions (foster carers) with adopters and every one of them has been amazed at how tiring it is.

I've been told they often call at a take-away on their way home after such a day because they are too exhausted to start cooking.

Great idea about the casseroles etc. Thanks. I do like the idea of a personalised gift for the children and was thinking (just after my OP) about making fleecy blankets with children's names embroidered or patched on.

I like the fleecy blanket idea - a friend has brought her new family home this week (5 yr old and 3 yr old),and I've been trying to think of something

membership to a local soft play?? might be pricy though

I think anything for the children with their names on it; blankets, towels, door name plates etc.
Good luck to them, they sound lovely.
