Anyone watching Whose the Daddy BBC3?

I know we are in a more fortunate position than a lot of adopters. We know loads about birth mum. She is related to OH.

But we know nothing at all about b.dad. We have a first name but we are not even sure if thats correct.

THis programe is about the many children who dont know who their fathers are.

Its very sad. I worry about it a fair bit. I worry that DS may have multiple siblings that he will find out about by mistake or by B.mum/aunt/grandmother being malicious.

DS has lots of issues and I have to answer questions re medical history. I know I am lucky that I have so much info about BM but cant say anything about bd.

of course you worry - we all do about various things and how we can't "fix" things for our DC's. If you work out how to turn off the "worry" gene, do let me know!

Its odd because it didnt even cross my mind until a year into the placement with DS.

I was so busy worrying what would happen if birth mum had more kids it hit me like a brick when b.auntie casually mentioned that the alledged b.father had a couple of kids!

Just got a bit distracted there! I do like Aleshia Dixon (presenting the show) but she just said 'I think you are being a bit to lapsy daisy about being a dad'

And she is wearing the most awful outfits I have ever seen (and so many of them!)

blooming missed it,well taping last5 mins.haven't a smidgen on dd birth father,very little on bm.ooh, alesha conceived the idea!it says so on the credits.
will have to wing it when awkward questions asked.

Haven't seen it yet but if you can get online you can watch it over the next week on 'bbc watch again' online.

It was quite good. It was a bit tv lite IYSWIM but raised important issues.

Cant help liking Ms Dixon but she has an annoying laugh.

So many kids know bugger all about their birth fathers, at least DS wont be the odd one out.

i did a thread on this t'other day cos i know nowt about my biological father, nothing, zilch, nada.

i found alisha dixon irritating beyond belief. i got all navel gazey after it and went on the bbc website but its all geared to adopters/adoptees of which i am neither. (i was fostered but thats another story)

so....thats how to bring down a thread in spectacular fashion...

well i bookmarked one of the sites....adoption search and reunion but that was as close to my situation as any of them got - plus i know nothing so dont think id be on a winner trying to trace an unknown!
