Help with foster carer allowances please for local authority rates?

My foster carers handbook says that we will get £130 a week. I've just had a letter from the people who do the payments and they are saying it's £236 a week.

Anyone know this off the top of their heads, we've only fostered much older children with a totally different structure (this is local authority) and this child is 10.

Anyone know?

We get LA allowances and currently get £755 for three kids (8,6 & 4) for 2 weeks which is about £125 each per week and I know that is enhanced baecause of their particular needs - are you sure the payment isn't for two weeks or a part week and a full week?

Hope that helps

there are often two elements to teh payment - a fee element, which is income and has to be declared to the Revenue and an allowance, which is to cover the expenses of keeping a child. Not just what you spend on them directly, but a share of housing etc costs

soemtimes a child will get an enhanced alloawance because of their additional support needs

teh minimm allowance for a 5-10 year old outside London is now £138.61
