Youngest age adopted?

Hi all,
We have been approved by panel for FFA and adoption upto 3 years old. Ideally we want a child/baby as young as possible but have no idea realistically how young is really achievable. The profiles we've been sent are 6 months youngest so by times we are linked and matched would be closer to 9 months. Has anyone had a child placed younger than this?

Yes, three times. We were matched with all three before they were born - their paperwork just called them "unborn surname". They each came to us at a few days old through FFA. The family finder contacted us directly about them, you get some info on paperwork but no official profile.

People do adopt babies but it tends to be through foster to adopt and lots of people want babies so you can't necessarily get this.

We were placed with a 6 months old. He had been added to his siblings adoption order and his foster carers had a holiday booked, they didn’t want him to go into temporary care so our process was really quick. He came to us at 6 months on the dot. This was 8 years ago.

Our daughter was placed at 12 weeks, not foster to adopt. Her foster placement had broken down and she was in hospital. I’ll say no more! Will admit it was somewhat of a shock as it happened so quickly.

Our youngest was 4 1/2 months. Second time adopters. Linked with him from about two weeks old. Court delays otherwise I think he would have come to us earlier. Big boy was nine months.

15 weeks old here straight from birth mom in a mother & baby unit as ffa placement . Arrived 3 weeks after we knew we were having him with 2 days notice (was due to be 6 weeks wait) as court date was changed due to additional concerns
