I’m watching it again tonight. It’s not exactly the same (obviously!) but I feel like they did such a good job with the highs and lows of adoption. I cry every time but in a really good, cathartic way! Anyone else love this film? Has anyone else found a similar film that really gets adoption right?

I love it too, obviously it's not real life and the US is very different, but there are some themes in it that are relevant such as blocked care. And there is some very funny black humour, such as the support group and the bedroom scene - when they think they have made a mistake. Also, I blubb at the credits that feature real families.

It is based on a true story. The director and his wife wanted to foster a single baby but ended up taking a sibling group of 3 and the fil is based on their experiences.
