We're hoping to access therapy through the ASF but have been advised not to apply until the government announces whether the funding will continue. The current funding round closes on 31/03/25.

I'm feeling very concerned there won't be a new round of funding. What do others think? Is it likely to be extended?

@Misstabithabean

They say this every year so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
It's a technical thing about not being able to commit future years budgets.
There would be post adoption support without ASF, so I really can't see it being axed, though there may be changes

It takes months to get approved. Are they really going to have a huge backlog in April? You will wait for ever. I would say apply now.

@Ted27 thanks, I think that's what I was hoping to hear!
@Arran2024 head of our agency said approvals are going through quickly at the moment - sometimes just taking a couple of weeks!

The concern from the agency was starting therapy with a child that then couldn't be continued. However, I think it might be worth getting the ball rolling with the application.

I have been told the opposite: that the ASF might not continue after next year, so to make sure to apply now for this year.
