As title, really finding this school holiday so much harder than previous ones. My son is 6 and always a handful but his dysregulation is getting more physical and harder to deal with as he's getting older and bigger. He punched me in the spine earlier this afternoon and it's still painful. My mother who has always lived with us is desperate to move out as she can't cope with him any more. He is the loveliest, politest little boy when he is regulated but I'm finding things really hard at the moment x

That sounds very difficult. Is he having therapy via the ASF? What support are you getting? I always found the holidays easier when we kept to a routine and were outside a lot, no matter what weather. Or could you go swimming, so do something which will help him dicharge some energy and make him tired but is a bonding activitiy as well?

Hi. Are you in England? If so ask for asf funding to go on a NVR course. Do you know what causes these outbursts? Sometimes we can deescalate situations if we get in quick and nvr can really help with that. It's often about choosing our battles and making sure we only do things our children can cope with. We basically spent all our time in playgrounds and parks until the girls were 12!
