I have heard through old friends that my ex-partner has forged my consent for her husband to adopt my children. I don't even know how to begin finding out if this is true. Is anyone able to offer advice or a way to request possible adoption records without much information? TIA

Has the adoption been completed? If so you can apply to Court to have a copy of the order or contact her local social services adoption team because they will have done an assessment before any order would be granted.

I would say you start with social services in your own area. You should have the full names and DOBs of your children as well as your ex's details. They should be able to at least point you in the right direction.

I would suggest it's incredibly unlikely, and not worth thinking about.

When you say you don't know where she lives, do you mean a specific address or town/city
Do the friends who gave you this information know?

Assuming you are in the UK it takes more than a signature for consent. Social work would need to prepare a report for Court which shows they have discussed the adoption with you. It’s highly unlikely your child has been adopted without your knowledge on just the strength of a signature.
