So said the senior social worker at our matching meeting. He had been known to SS from birth. Had 8 foster homes and had spent reception in a special school. He joined our family aged 6.The youngest of our 4 adopted sons.
Last Fri he and his lovely wife got the keys for a lovely new build 400k flat . 3 min from the River Thames. He has a 2.1 degree ,works for a charity. He inherit some money from both my parents, and his birth grandparents. But he has saved hard. So has his wife and so they had a 20% deposit between them . And will move in in 2 weeks time. They have a wide network of friends. Enjoy exploring places together.
I would love to update the social worker who had such low expectations for him!

Fantastic news, it gives hope that it’s not all doom and gloom and kids who’s needs can’t be met going into a similar cycle to their birth parents

How wonderful, you must be so proud of your son and what a great testament to your parenting of him. I'm in the thick of it with two young children and stories like these are so helpful

That’s so lovely - well done. A lesson to never, ever write children off.
