Our very best wishes to everyone here and your families. Let's hope 2024 brings us peace, calm and therapy by the bucketload!!
I'm happy because my big boy is home from university for more than 24 hours. Little one is struggling massively, missing his family, and so being more than a handful. We are off to a lights trail thus evening and we have other things planned over the next week.
Santa is bringing him everything on his sadly small list so hopefully he will get some enjoyment from the day.

@Ted27 right back at you! I sincerely hope that you have a calm, relaxing and enjoyable Christmas. Enjoy the lights trail. We went to a stage show in our nearest big city yesterday and AD1 and I fulfilled our annual Christmas tradition of watching It’s a Wonderful Life at our small town’s independent cinema this morning. There are many life lessons in this film. Only one packet of tissues consumed. Sending warmest wishes to your Little One for his first Christmas without his birth family and enjoy the precious time spent with your Big Boy.

Hi all,

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate, and wishing a happy and relaxing holidays to those of you who don't.

We have had a surprisingly pleasant Christmas so far - the usual hype of nursery and friends has abated now that they are on holiday, and although the eldest took 2.5 hours to get to sleep tonight, he eventually did. We have had only one present opened prematurely on impulse, and some minor moments, which was better than we were expecting!

We've been indulgent in all the ways that matter, so whilst we were tucking into our Christmas eve ham, the eldest devoured an entire tube of pringles, and we have stocked up on plain Yorkshire puddings for him tomorrow as we will be having our sprouts.

Thank you @Ted27 for your lovely ongoing posts and support, enjoy your time with your family over the festive period.

To everyone else on the board, regular or just passing through, I hope that Santa brings you whatever is on your list and that 2024 brings you peace, happiness and plenty of chocolate!

Hope everyone has a peaceful, happy and safe Christmas.- or at the very least, one element of the above!

Merry Christmas to one and all.

Merry Christmas everyone! I’ve been up for hours and I’m twiddling my thumbs waiting for my two ADs to wake up. I think my children are faulty as my best Christmas childhood memories are of getting up at 4am because my brother and I were so excited to open our presents. If it gets to 9am, I’m switching the hoover on to rouse the buggers!

Merry Christmas everyone! We've had a beautiful Christmas with ADS so far. Our second and he's been so wonderful and calm. Loved all his gifts and we're all feeling so incredibly blessed.

Merry Christmas all! We're having a lovely day with wider family. I am powering through after a very disrupted night's sleep - badly timed tooth ache plus DS trying to start the day at 2.45am. So thankfully cool uncle has taken over as chief entertainer.

My lovely big boy gave me this today. I admit I cried. Love that young man so much.

Simply beautiful. Such powerful words. An amazing young man. Job well done, mum.

Wonderful @Ted27, beautiful sentiment from your big boy. I hope your little boy had a good day too. My two have had a fabulous day - they’ve enjoyed seeing family, their gifts were spot on (no easy task picking things for DD who still struggles to ask for what she wants in case she doesn’t get it). My DS woke early and was chatting in bed waiting for everyone else to wake “mum, I’m excited for presents but mostly I’m excited for being with my family”. It’s been a lovely relaxed day.

We went to my mums today and as we left eldest 11 told my mum, sister and brother in law how much he loved them and were glad they were his family. For him to say this and let his guard down was huge and they were in bits, even my brother in law!
