Discharged from paediatrician

I just wanted to tell someone this who might understand. Today my daughter, 7 got discharged from both her paediatrician and endocrinologist. Our last visit to the hospital with regards to her premature birth and 1st year life. All of her complications have (almost) resolved themselves, apart from height - but growth hormone is working properly so nothing to be done (and she’s perfect anyway).

She wants a roast dinner tonight in celebration of no more hospital visits.

Congratulations to your daughter and you! As someone who also spends a lot of time in hospitals, I totally get where you are coming from. I hope you had a lovely dinner.

We had a lovely dinner thank you. I bought some ingredients for them to make their own knickerbocker (sp) glory afterwards. They loved it. I've had a few happy tears today, she's had so many blood tests and everything else over the years, when it was obvious that it was prematurity and a poor start that contributed to her problems. But we did feel that it was important for her (although she won't realise this yet) and us, that we had investigated every avenue, particularly with regards to her height. A poster on here relayed the Midsummer Nights Dream quote to me a few weeks ago and she loves it...I found her a t shirt with it on. It is just her all over.
