No. I have been interviewed by one - but they were employed by an adoption agency, not me.

What do you want to employ them to do?

Private SW's are employed by agencies either as 'cover', seasonal or on the side of their day job.

I have never in 6 years of being in the adoption community ever heard of people employing a private SW... I don't even think its possible.

Sounds like you need legal representation? Ridley & Hall are the experts in adoption

It is possible to employ a private social worker as a consultant, I know of a couple who are adoption specialists. It depends on what you’re looking for them to support you with, they’d usually be involved as part of the legal process as expert witnesses rather than privately supporting adoption assessment, for example.
