Are smokers allowed to adopt?

Sorry random question, I’ve heard of peoples adoption processes being stalled because of high BMI. But are smokers allowed to adopt? Or do they have to give up?

They have to give up.

Why wouldn't they? It's dangerous for kids.

No. IIRC in my LA you have to have given up for a year before applying.
