Double paternity leave?

We are moving towards adopting two children who are currently in separate FC placements. Because of that, SWs want to settle one child in before the other comes home too.
We are very excited of course!
I am wondering, as I will be taking the ‘paternity’ leave, will I only get two weeks to spread between the two d’you reckon, or two blocks of two?
My job doesn’t have flexible annual leave…

I have no experience of this, however - potentially as it is two separate placements you may get 2 lots.

i am not aware of the process of matching children when they come in pairs but presumably you would have two different matching certificates with different dates which would (in my mind) allow you have two pat leaves.

however I am not aware. You could give acas a ring maybe??

2 different matching certificates with 2 different dates should, I think, give to sets of paternity leave. If it does, it should also rest the start date of maternity leave equivalent too.

@WittyUsername123

are you aware of parental leave? Its unpaid but may help.

I think I may need to take some unpaid parental leave- the issue is, I think that we’re going to have one matching panel but just staggered intros/ move-ins, so I don’t know if that will swing it!
I have explained to SW and they are looking into it- they may be able to write something stating it’s two placements, which would mean we get double leave.
I’m not trying to cheat the system, but I want to support my partner for both!

I think you are right to try and maximise your leave so use everything available.
This is going to be a really tough start to your family
