Almost at stage two

Finally, after being put on hold due to house move/renovations/DH redundancy, and Covid we’re now just about to move to stage two of the adoption process and it really feels like this might actually happen.

Social worker said four months from that point, it actually feels within reach now!

Anyone else in this place right now?

Stage 2 is intense, but I enjoyed it

Posted too soon!

What particular parts did you find intense? I know they want to know all about your family/childhood etc, I’m preparing myself for talking about failed ivf…

I found it intense through the sheer number of visits. But my situation is probably different to yours as we are second time adopters with a big gap between 1st adoption and now. When we adopted first time, the first/second stages weren't even a thing!

Our stage 2 this time was all about how a new child would impact the 2 boys we already adopted.

Yeah our social worker was explaining yesterday that it didn’t used to be done in stages, she did say that at least half our stage 2 visits would be on zoom which is good, guess it’s better time wise for her too with less travelling.
