Hi
Could do with some advice please as at the moment we are in the dark and feeling very overwhelmed! Basically my dm had a baby 54 years ago and gave the baby up for adoption.
I had a letter the day before yesterday from a man acting as a go between between the adopted adult and my dm. It is legit as Far as I can see.
This man and my dm have been in contact today and it's sounding relatively positive in regards of a meet up.
Obviously I want to support my dm and this whole process but what should I do as I want to support as best as I can but I'm so emotional about it all and I feel like I'm in shock. Obviously it isn't a patch on what they are both feeling! I just wondered if anyone had any advice or what to expect thanks for reading

PAC 020 7284 5876 have an intermediary advice line it may be worth giving them a call for some support for your mum to make sure this goes as smoothly as possible.

Thank you for the reply - I'll pass the number on to my mum and hope that they can support her.

I'm an adoptee and used an intermediary service to make contact with my birth family. The intermediary was really helpful and offered support (phone calls and meetings) to all those involved. It did make a very difficult and emotional process run more easily.

Thank you for your reply - I will look into finding someone to help us try and guide us through this. I hope it worked out well for you.
