Delayed medical

We are due to come to the end of stage 1 next week. My medical was a few weeks ago, all okay. My wife's medical has been delayed as we moved her surgeries to mine, and her doctors took a while send her records through. Her appt is now not going to be until April. I'm dreading telling our social worker as we are now going to go beyond the 8 weeks allowed for stage 1. Any advice, words of wisdom??

My medical was lost and we just carried on to stage 2. It didn’t appear until shortly before we went to panel. It didn’t cause any problems.

The timescales are a guide, many people are delayed for many reasons

Really nothing to worry about.

Thanks both! I hope so, our social worker is a bit old school, like a teacher so was worried about telling her!

Use the word COVID somewhere in your explanation to your SW, especially if it's been used at you during your assessment process. You have no idea whether it's affecting the medical or not but then neither does your SW.
