We are preparing for our final social worker meetings as our adoption order has been granted (yay!)

I just wondered how did people mark the final meeting? Do you get them a gift? A card? Is it inappropriate?

We got our social workers gifts. They were amazing and it is thanks to them that we have our kids. I will be forever grateful to them.

Can I ask what you got them?

We have our final social worker meetings next week as AO just been granted as well. I read somewhere that they can’t accept gifts over £5, if they do they have to go into a raffle at Christmas. I found some star ornaments on Etsy saying “thank you for being an important part of my story” which were £4.50 then we’ll buy them flowers and chocolates too

I bought flowers and a card for my social worker, which were well received.

There is a thread from a couple of years ago around the rules and ethics of social workers receiving gifts here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/adoptions/3356082-Presents-for-social-workers

To avoid any awkwardness, I would certainly go for small token of appreciation rather than something big.
