Feeling utterly broken by adoption

Most days it's hard being an adoptive parent. Today it's harder than usual. Just needed to tell someone.

Just feels like there's no end in sight.
FASD and it's fucking miserable consequences for us all for the rest of our lives.
Probably sleep deprivation tipping me over the edge.

It is so hard, and feels relentless sometimes, and so lonely sometimes. You're not alone, we are here.

I just wanted to reach out too. I’ve had some difficult times since my son was placed and found this place to be very supportive.

Sleep deprivation is so hard, it grinds you down. Sometimes looking to the future is scary because it isn’t what we expected when you become a parent. Oh and it is ok to be angry. I hear your anger and sadness in your post and also want to add, you are not alone

Just adding to the voices saying we're here and we hear you.

My daughter was born addicted with possible FASD - the sleep deprivation was awful.

Just wanted to let you know that I am here for you too. Being an adoptive parent can be heartbreaking and ridiculously challenging. I’m so glad that we have this platform so that people can reach out. You are not alone. My daughter is “undiagnosed FASD” (because she doesn’t tick enough boxes,) but was born to an alcoholic mother, I’ve been there. It’s exhausting. Sending hugs and support xx
