Hello. My husband and I are a black Caribbean couple with two biological children and we would like to start the adoption process. We would really welcome your information, experience, recommendations about agencies that specialise in or are have good experience in BME adoption. We know about TACT (and would of course welcome any info. or experiences about TACT) but don't really have any other knowledge other than this agency so all info. and experiences will be valuable.

Hello @peony2017

I am with Coram as a black Caribbean adopter and I have had a great experience with them. I think it's all dependant on the social worker who you encounter. We have had a very good conversation about identity and have follow up conversations about this to ensure she has a good enough understanding of the barriers which I as an individual have faced in approaching their agency to be assessed as a adopter

Barbados's I heard is a great agency and they are looking for black adopters specifically at this time (and all the time probably)

@Christine2020

where did you adopt your child from? Private adoption is not legal in the Uk
