Statutory Adoption Pay

Hi, I have two jobs, one of which I would be returning to after my adoption leave and the other I wouldn't. Could I get statutory adoption pay from both employers (both contracted jobs) or just my main one? My managers in my main job know my plans but I haven't told anyone in my second job yet. Does anyone have any experience of this?

I don’t believe that you can - as it’ll be on your national insurance number… you may be able to get the enhanced pay from both but again, not sure about that!

I think you can - look at maternity action.org

(Sorry, I'm can't do links for some reason!)

Thanks. I've had a look and a pregnant woman can get statutory maternity pay from both jobs so hopefully it'll be the same for statutory adoption pay. If I get through panel I'll speak to my second job employers about it. I'd always thought I'd just be handing in my notice for that job as soon as I was matched but if I could get statutory pay then it would help out a lot.

It should be the same as SMP - otherwise it's discriminatory. It's the gov paying via your employer so there shouldn't be an issue (I've asked this question on MN in the past as I have 2 part time jobs and hoping to apply to adopt)
