Match approved but BM trying to appeal - timescale?

Feel so gutted, we knew she would, as is her right, but we’d hoped introductions would start next week and now we’re looking at delay, but no one can say how long. Does anyone have experience of this phase?

Is this a foster to adopt arrangement? It sounds like a placement order has not been granted?

Not F2A. We’ve been approved by panel for the match, but one of the parents has made an attempt to appeal. So no we can’t plan intros. Not sure of the timescale of the wait. Really gutted.

I know how upsetting it is when the timescales are so vague and you just want to be moving forward. We had a six month wait between being told of our match and it actually happening (not due to BP appeal but other circumstances). It was the longest six months of my life and so tough because everything was uncertain until the day we started introductions. I know that's no help to you, but just wanted to say that once the match happened the delay and frustrations around it faded somewhat. I'd recommend that you keep going back to your social worker to see if they have any more information and to keep your case in the forefront of their mind!! Hi i’m so sorry to hear this you must be devastated. We had a similar situation but birth parent never actually did it. We were told the delay would probably be about 6 weeks if they had done. Hope this helps.
