Appropriate to send a card?

My friends have been to panel today, and been approved to adopt a lovely little boy! Due to start introductions in a fortnight or so.

Lockdown is unfortunately stopping me from popping round with a bottle of bubbly 🙄 would it be appropriate to send a card congratulating them on their approval? And obviously still a card/gift when he comes home.

yes absolutely

I still have my ‘its a boy’ cards - he was 8, he loved them too

@Ted27 even though it's just congratulating them on their approval? And then give them another card with their gifts when he home for good?

Thanks for replying Smile

Yes, absolutely. It's a special time and they will be so excited. I got some cards which I really appreciated and have kept in my ADs memory box. Check out mumaduke designs as they have some specific adoption celebration cards which can be difficult to find sadly mumadukedesigns.com/

its up to you really

coming home day can be overwhelming for everyone so its advisable not to overdo the gifts at that point. But adopters are often left out of the things that are usual when people have babies.

Personally I had emails after matching panel and lots of cards on my last day at work. I also had a baby shower before intros - not possible at the moment of course, when I received cards and gifts.
I didnt really care when I got them, they were all gratefully received and treasured, we have all the cards in a photo album.
Its just nice to be treated the same as other new mums

I say do it! I agree, adopters often get left out.
Lovely news. X

Have sent the card! Also have a surprise baby shower coming up Smile and will organise gifts and another card ready to give after he's home.

Thanks all!
