Who said to imagine how you would feel looking back on a conversation?

Hi all, I can't find the wise comment by the wise poster who said...

"Imagine how you would feel looking back on a conversation?" Or words to that affect.

Anyway, the words stuck with me and when I got into a confrontation with ds (10) today I imagined looking back on the conversation, and how I would hope I handled it!

I immediately changed track and it was a totally different conversation and a totally different outcome. I could not find the thread to thank that poster!

Well done you. My sister confessed that she often imagines that she is on a documentary where parenting experts are watching through tiny cameras and explain to the viewers why what she did was the right thing. She says it instantly makes her feel empowered to make a considered decision. Same concept I suppose.
