Hi how do we see about additional support in high school?

England?
There should be a member of SLT who is the designated 'LAC/post-LAC' you could contact.
However, depending on what kind of support you are after there are other routes.

For pastoral issues you can contact, form tutor, head of year or pastoral support.
For general learning / SEN contact the SENCO.
For support in a specific subject, contact the specific teacher.

If the DC is struggling in maths or English, you can enquire whether any additional tuition is available via the pupil premium money, though the DC may be taken out of a non-core lesson to access it.

Enquire have excellent support available for parents in Scotland. My understanding is that you would approach the school ASN lead to discuss needs and supports required. If you think there’s a need for assessment you should always ask for it in writing (email is fine), and clearly state you want an assessment by Ed psych, SALT or whoever. Legislation gives some additional rights to young people over 12 but it can still be difficult. You could also go back to the local authority adoption team, who may be well placed to give post adoption type support.
