I have just heard about EPACs - Educational plans for adopted children, and think it might be useful for my starting-y11 DD.

Anyone use one? Any advice before I ask the school?

Hi there
My 2 are still in Primary but they both have an EPAC. I think they would be more useful in Secondary as in Primary they tend to have the same teacher for all lessons. In Secondary where you have different teachers for each subject they would be really useful as a way to get to know the child. Likewise each new school year ours get given to the new teacher save us having to go through everything again. My 2 know they have them as every other term they spend time with the LAC teacher updating them, and it makes them feel they have a voice. It's interesting when we see them as the section where the children answer the questions are things like who are your friends, what do you like etc and we can never get anything out of them!

Thank you. Since posting I have realised that an EPAC is a new form of PEP which I do remember DD1 coming with 13 years ago, but they seem more comprehensive than I remember.

If anyone has used them for secondary I'd love to know how useful they've been.
