Nervous for Kinship Panel tomorrow

Myself and my partner have our Kinship Panel tomorrow to hopefully gain Kinship of my niece. I'm very nervous, it is being done over video link due to Coronavirus and distance. We have never actually met my niece and I fear this may work against us but I am hoping not.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom? What kind of questions will we be asked? Thank you in advance

My advice, just be yourself and answer as honestly as you can.

Hope it goes well

Good luck! You wouldn't be going to panel if the SWs thought it wouldn't go through, and they always prefer a kinship placement if at all possible.

@121Sarah121 @Allington thank you both! They said the only negative they could come up with was that there is no pre-existing relationship and they all agreed we would be approved! It's been such a long process I can't wait to meet her now

@Amiayoungmumthough congratulations! That’s wonderful news. That’s understandable and goes to show there is nothing else they could say then.

Enjoy meeting your little one and make lots memories

Congratulations

Very few adopters meet their children before intros so you are in good company.

Good luck

Congratulations!

@Ted27 we finally got to meet my niece this week for the first time. She is adorable and the introduction went very well. Our social worker has advised us that they will be treating the case as an adoption with regards to transitioning etc. He said that it's likely to be done very quickly. Just can't wait to see her again now! :D
